Furthermore our latest budget can now be downloaded from the Freedom of Information web pages. It is also time again to nominate your Citizen of the Year for New Milton. The yearly Citizen of the Year award aims to recognise outstanding contributions to the community and each year the award is presented by New Milton Town Council to the winner. Our last winner was Mr Ted Horne. We will be taking nominations from the public up until April 1st when nominations will close and the Town Mayor will pick a winner. The new scheme aims to recycle the waste generated from the market stalls such as the build up of boxes and bags. New Milton now joins three other New Forest markets to receive the recycling scheme with successful operations in Lymington, Ringwood and Hythe. The new scheme will help ensure that recyclable waste disposal will now be sent to recycling plants rather than a landfill. The document aims to guide householders, landowners, businesses and developers on the design of new buildings, with particular regard to character retention and implementation of related policies within the District Council's recently adopted 'Core Strategy', plus implementation of the other policies within. Appendix 3 of the draft document contains the recently adopted New Milton Town Design Statement. Since its launch the Basics Bank have provided over 2390 food parcels and helped feed over 5000 families. The Basics Bank is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am to 12noon and can be found at the Lymington URC in the High Street.
